The Old Farmer's Almanac Predicts a “Sneaky Cold” Winter

2022–2023 Canadian Winter Forecast Summary

This year it is predicted that winter will arrive early. Temperatures will drop quickly from northern Canada settling into southern Ontario.

By mid- to late November this year icy conditions will arrive and continue throughout the season. January temperatures are expected to average 7 degrees below normal.

Ontario will see increased snowfalls this winter while major snowstorms are predicted for other parts of Canada as early as the end of November.

With the cold weather the hard water season is looking great!

For those of you who have never experienced on-ice bungalows what's holding you back??

Our ice bungalows will accommodate groups of all sizes. Propane heat and generators for electricity allow you to experience the comforts of home while fishing right from your bunk.

Featuring a two burner cooktop, barbeque, tv and dvd player all bungalows have holes drilled inside and out. With bunkbeds, table and chairs, pots and pans and a toilet attached, you will have everything you need to enjoy your weekday or weekend ice fishing package.

Expect to catch walleye, perch, pike and whitefish and enjoy time with friends and family. The season runs from January 1, 2023 to the third weekend in March.

Ontario Family Fishing Events is a province-wide opportunity for Canadian residents to fish Ontario waters for free. The Ontario Government has designated February 19-21, 2022 (12:01 a.m. Saturday to 11:59 p.m. Monday) as free fishing. (no license required Family Day Weekend).
